FIRE Alone, Desperate, Stranded in the city. No home, No food, Famished on the streets. Different, Separate, Apart from other waifs. The rage, The anger, The jealousy amongst us. Litter, Smoke, Fire burns the roads. Poverty, Wealth, The clash provokes the craze. We fight, We offend, The suffrage is the blaze. Remorse, Anguish, The fire within burns low. Stranded in the city, With nowhere to go. Written in 1997 and performed during the "fire" portion of a school anthology. Poetry
